This 2 hour+ tour takes place in the heart of Little Havana on Calle Ocho. It is essentially the same as our Little Havana Cultural Walking & Food tour minus the hot meal sit down lunch, although we do offer a tropical juice, baked pastry, and freshly brewed Cuban coffee. Beginning at the Bay of Pigs monument, the tour starts with the history of Cuban exiles arriving in Miami and continues to explore the social, political and artistic contributions by Cubans in everyday Miami life. Highlights include visiting various exile run establishments, meeting the owners and learning about tropical fruits, apparel, Cuban cigars, coffee, music and dance, artists and performers, and popular games played by all generations.
Two hours flies by quickly! It is recommended to allow time to stay after the tour to revisit a favorite stop or to make some purchases or to have lunch. While we do enter some shops, we stop primarily to provide historical context.
Should you choose to stay and dine on your own, the guide is happy to suggest which restaurant suits your food preference. Whether you enjoy savory meats or are vegetarian, there is something for everyone.
